Assessment Task 1

Task: For this task you are going to interview a partner about their work or educational experience until now. During the interview, you will be observed and assessed by an assessor. Once you have collected information you need to present in as a short presentation.

For this task our class is divided into groups with three people in each Group. So that every student will take the interview of the other and be the interviewee and also observe the other to. Duty change after each interview. But we are two and have to take the observation side by side while performing our task.

Interviewer: Gurpreet Kaur S26725
Interviewee: Kaivan Shah

Kaivan: Good morning!!
Gurpreet: Good Morning!! How are you?
Kaivan: Fine thank you..!!

Gurpreet: Kaivan tell me something about yourself?
Kaivan: I belong to Gujarat, India. I am Graduate in commerce and have masters in Finance.

Gurpreet: Do you have any working experience?
Kaivan: Yes, I have two Experiences One in HDFC sale and the other in ICICI bank.

Gurpreet: Fine!! Now tell me something about the one with HDFC sales! How long you worked there?
Kaivan: For 1 ½ year.

Gurpreet: What are the timings for this job?
Kaivan: 9.00 am to 7.00 pm.

Gurpreet: What were your responsibilities during this job?
Kaivan: It is a target based job. Opening new account, dealing with fixed deposits and reporting to the Manager about my sales are my duties.

Gurpreet: Fine!! Now tell me something about the work environment in HDFC
Kaivan: It is a nice experience of my life. It’s good to work with HDFC sales. There I enjoyed the company of my colleagues and supervisors. Who are critics as well as very co-operative. Which result as improvement in my work.

Gurpreet: Tell me which is the most useful skill which you learn while working with HDFC?
Kaivan: While working with HDFC the most useful skill is convincing others and it really helps me.

Gurpreet: Now tell me something about ICICI Bank
Kaivan: I worked there for 1 ½ year. Here too my duties including account opening and handling with fixed deposits.

Gurpreet: What were the timings for this job?
Kaivan: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Gurpreet: Tell me something about the working environment of ICICI Bank?
Kaivan: There were no uniforms. Employees had their identity cards to log in their attendance. There punctuality matters.

Gurpreet: ok!! Tell me about the skill which you learned while working with ICICI Bank?
Kaivan: It is convincing others and the effective use of words while interacting with others on a workplace.

Gurpreet: ok! Thanks you. Nice to meet you!! See you!!


OBSERVATION: As I was interviewing Kaivan I observe:

1. There was a lack of eye contact.
2. Ineffective body language just like laziness.
3. Needs repetition as there was a lack of concentration too.
4. He interrupted me while asking questions.


Observing Interview of Shivani Kapoor by Amardeep Singh: Shivani is just here in Cambridge International after finishing her +2 standard. She belongs to Ambala. Her father is a businessman and mother is a house wife. She has two siblings. She does not have any work experience yet.

At the time of interview she was nervous and there was a lack of concentration by her side as needs the repetition of questions by Amardeep.

Observing Interview of Amardeep Singh by Shivani : Amardeep Singh is Graduate in Information Technology. He belongs to Batala, India. His father is a businessman and mother is a housewife. He has two siblings. Two brothers one younger and the other is elder. He has one work experience. He worked with DLS, Jhalandhar. (Punjab) as a software Engineer.

There was ineffective use body language by Amardeep. And he was revolving his chair while he was interviewed by Shivani. There was a repetition of questions by Shivani. She forget to asked details about his work experience and asked the question regarding his family background.



Assessment Task 2


Brief: You will be required to talk to a client in face to face situation. You will be paired with another student who will play the role of the client. You will be given the complimentary employee role-play card. You will be asked to role play a situation. During the role-play, you will be observed and assessed by an assessor.

Interaction between client and the employee of Subway:

Client: Excuse me!!!!
Employee: Hi!! How are you? How can I help you?
Client: Hi! I am fine. I want a burger…!

Employee: Which one (showing the details on board) Foot size or six inches?
Client: I want a foot size burger.

Employee: Which bread do you like wheat, white or brown bread?
Client: white bread!!

Employee: Want some cheese or not?
Client: Yes please!!

Employee: You want vegetarian or non-vegetarian?
Client: I want non vegetarian burger..!!

Employee: Ok Ham, Lamb or meat balls?
Client: Meat balls please!!

Employee: Any Salads please?
Client: Yes put some onion, tomato, cabbage and olives.

Employee: Sauces please?
Client: Yes put some miomise sauce, tomato and sweet chilly sauce… and sprinkle some chicken salt.

Employee: You want to eat here or take away?
Client: I want to take away!!

Employee: (After packing burger) $6.70 please…
Client: Yes!! Please take it.

Employee: It’s ok!! Have a Nice day!! See you!!
