class activity 1

CLASS ROOM ACTIVITY 1:
NAME : AVNEET KAUR
STUDENT NO. : S23594
1.Communication is a method of exchanging the ideas and information with each other or from

one place to another by sending a text message or by body gestures and facial expressions.

It includes minimum 2 persons or many others to communicate . There is a channel through

which communication takes place between a sender and receiver. It is of three types verbal ,

non verbal and graphical . The person who delivers a message is called sender and the person

who collect it is called receiver . when the communication takes place the receiver

understands the infomation according to his values , skills , attitude and feelings .

Finally the feedback is done according to the situation or condition of the receiver.

2.VERBAL COMMUNICATION: When the sender convey message to receiver by talking or by writing

a text in words then it is called a verbal communication . For example , a student has

written a application for leave and teacher accept it by sighning , it is a verbal

communication .
Non verbal communication: A person can explain his message without talking but only giving

some expressions , gestures , body language or reaction which will not include any word.

This will be called non verbal communication. For example , a person standing away from

another person in the croud and want to get introduced with him then he just wave his hand.
GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION: iT IS THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE IDEA BY LOOKING TO DIFFERENT SYMBOLS,

STAMPS OR identification. For example, red is the symbol of danger or we can see the arrows

signs on the roads which tell us the way by graphic communication.

3. a. SENDER: He is the person who conveys the message through a means of communication.
RECEIVER: the person who collects the message sent by the sender and send a feedback is

called a receiver .
b.MESSAGE: It is the matter, feeling or knowledge shared or discused between sender and

receiver which is transformed from sender to receiver .
c. FEEDBACK: This is the reply message sent by the receiver to the sender after reacting

to the senders message for giving views on seanders message .

4. a. PERCEPTION:It is very important and effective for the communication that what kind of

perception do the sender and receiver have .Because when a person observes the message he

will react to it according to his experience , knowledge ,understanding , skills or attitude

.Persiption simply means to observe the context closely and deaply.
b. Expectations, self-concept , family , feelings , culture, communication skills,

attitude , attitude , experience and values.
5. a.
However, the commonly known types of communications are :

Intra-personal communication skills : This implies individual reflection, contemplation and

meditation. One example of this is transcendental mediation. According to the experts this

type of communication encompasses communicating with the divine and with spirits in the form

of prayers and rites and rituals.

Interpersonal communication skills : This is direct, face-to-face communication that occurs

between two persons. It is essentially a dialogue or a conversation between two or more

people.

It is personal, direct, as well as intimate and permits maximum interaction through words

and gestures. Interpersonal communications maybe:

Focused Interactions : This primarily results from an actual encounter between two persons.

This implies that the two persons involved are completely aware of the communication

happening between them.

Unfocused interactions : This occurs when one simply observes or listens to persons with

whom one is not conversing. This usually occurs at stations and bus stops, as well as on the

street, at restaurants, etc.

Non verbal communication skills : This includes aspects such as body language, gestures,

facial expressions, eye contact, etc., which also become a part of the communicating

process; as well as the written and typed modes of communications.
