1 ‘Communication is an interactive process.’ Briefly explain.
- Knowledge, feelings, or thoughts are encoded and sent from at least one person and received and decoded by at least one another.
2 ‘Define and give an example of verbal, nonverbal and graphic communication.
- Verbal : We usually using our own words between two or more people like speaking and writing.
- Nonverbal : It is sent by any means without words or graphics. We can explain some information using body movement, posture and dress.
- Graphic : Graphic communication can have both verbal and nonverbal components. It means we can put some words and photos in the paper.
3. a. Define the terms ‘sender’ and ‘receiver’
- sender : who is giving the information.
- receiver : who is receiving the information.
b. Define the term ‘message’.
- message : It is information which is the idea or feeling transmitted from the sender to the receiver to achieve understanding.
c. Define the term ‘feedback’.
- feedback : It is an essential part of successful interpersonal communication. Sender has to check with receiver to establish that their understanding of the message is correct. Moreover, asking to them about opinion.
4. a. Define the term ‘ perception’.
- It is the way people understand or give meaning to their environment. It means sender and receiver, they must know each other about Self-concept, family, culture, skills, feelings, attitudes and values.
b. List the four factors that may influence the perception of the sender or receiver of a message.
- Experience, attitudes and beliefs and a range of acquired skills.
5. a. List four different types of communication.
- 1. communicate by face-to-face
2. communicate by phone
3. communicate by messenger
4. communicate by text.
b. Define these and give an example of each.
- 1. sender and receiver are staying together and they can talking to each other.
2. They are staying different place, and they can’t speaking to each other. In this situation they can communicate by phone.
3. If they are online, they will communicate by messenger like MSN.
4. Receivers can’t answer the phone, you can send a text for communicate.
